The first mention of a food that resembled what we know as pasta today, was in book about Roman cooking by Marcus Gavius Apicius written 2000 years ago.  Not surprising since everyone knows it is a staple in Italian cooking!  Hungarian cuisine also depends very much on noodles and offers a variety the rivals that of the Italians!  Not all European food cultures rely as heavily on noodles as some but you will find noodle dishes everywhere. That may be why we stock more than 30 different types of noodles!
