Breakfast Foods

There is a long running Dutch reality TV show called Boer Zoekt Vrouw. Translated that is “Farmer Seeks a Wife.” I love this show because it gives me a chance to hear Dutch spoken and see the Dutch countryside as prospective partners join the farmers on their farms.  But I also especially love watching them eat breakfast because it looks like they have been shopping at my store!  Traditionally in Holland and other European countries, breakfast is quite simple revolving around bread and perhaps pastries.  Pancakes are actually usually reserved for the supper meal. What makes breakfast special is the wonderful toppings. High fruit content jams.  Full flavour honeys.  And chocolate! Who would skip breakfast if you could put chocolate on your bread!
