Cereals are a classic breakfast option. However, they haven’t always been relegated to the first meal of the day. Not being able to eat potatoes anymore has changed the way I look at cereals.  Polenta is wonderful smothered in gravy. I also enjoy it in a bowl of soup broth trying to take just enough broth and polenta in each spoonful so they finish up at the same time. Sometimes after a particularly busy day at the store, I make myself a large bowl of oatmeal porridge. If you think that is strange, no worries, my husband does too! However, cooked cereals are nourishing comfort food for many people.  Muesli is great for sprinkling on top of muffins, apple crisp or coffee cake.
