Milk protein, called casein, was the most common binder in house paints for thousands of years before it was replaced by petroleum products. Using milk paint you can achieve time worn effects or you can create a smooth ultra modern look. This is a highly versatile paint suitable for furniture or house surfaces.  The casein in milk paint binds so strongly to porous surfaces that it will not chip or peel. Historically used to paint barns, with the addition of a protective top coat oil it also makes an excellent exterior paint.
