Art by Jacqui
Ever since as a young child she embellished faces in her mother’s magazines, Jacqui has been creating. Even when there wasn’t a lot of time to pursue serious artistic endeavors as she raised five children, her art supplies were always near at hand for free moments. In recent years as her style has matured, art has become a forum to comment on her world. Her work explores relationships between people and the environments they create. Jacqui’s pen and ink drawings reveals a love affair with “line” and she often digs into the past to rediscover classic design and aesthetics. Her acrylic paintings and mixed media work, on the other hand, push the boundaries of materials and techniques. While her resultant body of work might vary widely from broad strokes to intricate detail, it is always evocative and thoughtful.
